According to the D1 grand prix website, presently, drifting is no longer just a male dominated sport. More and more women are encouraged to participate and are getting involved. Seven Japanese women are prepared to take on the men in this predominantly male event for a shot at the D1 qualifications. Especially worth noting, however, is that out of these seven contestants, one is using Federal's 595 on the front and rear, while three are using Federal's 595 on the rear.
1. Akemi Okazaki will be using 235/40-17 595s for the front and 255/40-17 595s on the rear of her Nissan 180SX RPS13.
2. Nobue Nakamura will be using 255/40-17 595s on the rear of her Nissan Silvia S14.
3. Yumi Murota will be using 235/45-17 595s on the rear of her Nissan 180SX RPS13.
4. Masami Nagata will be using 215/45-17 595s on the rear of her Nissan Silvia S14.
Once again, Federal's 595 proves to be a favorite amongst drifters, male or female, and we wish all contestants the best of luck in their qualification matches.
