Federal Tire has inaugurated its new high-tech, eco-friendly factory in Guanyin, Taiwan. Federal Chairman, Shu-Jam Ma and Taoyuan City Mayor Wen-Tsan Cheng held a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the 480,000-plus square foot facility.
Federal management, local government officials, and invited guests were on hand for the inauguration ceremony in Taoyuan Industrial Park. This next-generation factory will employ 1,000 workers, producing an estimated eight million tires a year at full capacity. Early production is underway to meet greater demands.
"The entire Federal team is thrilled about the opening of this new facility. Building the facility in Taiwan is a strategic decision, as it places us closer to local communities and the everlasting, deep-rooted cooperation,” said Ma. “This high-tech, eco-friendly Guanyin Factory will let Federal better serve our global customers and guarantee unprecedented satisfaction with the transformation of Industry 4.0 for smart manufacturing.”
Federal also vowed to play an active role in local communities as Mayor Cheng promised further collaboration with Federal to deploy dedicated resources to boost local job creation and economic development, implementing low-impact manufacturing processes for a sustainable future.
Federal was striving to ensure this latest production site meeting eco-friendly demands via the following priorities: efficient use of solar-power resources, reduction of CO2 emissions, large-scale reduction of water consumption, and implementation of environmental construction.
The inauguration of Guanyin Factory marked a new chapter on Federal’s global growth strategy while displaying Federal’s ambition to march toward a centurial triumph.
